Playdate for Porter

I had a fun thing happen. A woman who I had met a long time ago (summer of 2006) at a Resolve infertility support group sent me an e-mail. She said she had been going through her e-mail address list cleaning it up and came across my address and was just wondering how I was doing. Turns out she has a 16 month old son as well! I just thought that was such a great coincidence that we both succeeded down different paths of infertility. It was really neat to see a photo of her and her son and to hear what she's been up to. She's now expecting her second baby due in August, and I couldn't be happier for her. At any rate, we decided to get our boys together for a playdate, and it was really fun. I hoping we can continue to do this once a month or so. Here are some photos of our day at the Eagle's Nest in New Brighton with our new friend Dutcher and his mom Elizabeth:

Porter 16 months

I am trying to catch up on missed posts here, so bear with me. Porter turned 16 months on Feb 4th, and is almost 17 months now, but here are some photos from the beginning of February. We also celebrated my Dad's 82nd birthday at Pino's in Oakdale with my brother Steve and his family, so I have a photo of that as well.

Super cool baby:

Porter likes to have cereal every day (Honey Bunches of Oats) just like Daddy, so here they are sharing their breakfast ritual together. Porter even takes his spoon and mixes up the cereal in the milk just like Jeff. It's pretty funny:

Mexico

Well, it's been about a month since I returned from Mexico for my girls trip, and I am finally getting around to posting my photos. We really had a wonderful time. It was too short of course, but it was still great to get away from it all and enjoy some gorgeous weather as well as the company of 5 women who have been my dear friends for 25 years now. I am so blessed to have such a great network of friends. There were a few who couldn't come too, but hopefully next time. A beach vacation is really my favorite kind, and I did exactly what I wanted to do: read my book on the beach, listen to music and drink tropical drinks! It was perfect! We ended up going to an all-inclusive place which ended up being really great. We didn't have to worry about splitting up the bill or figuring out the exchange rate, and we didn't have to worry about being on a schedule or leaving the hotel for meals. The food and all the drinks were really good too. It would be great to do with the kids and Jeff someday. I know they would love it too. We had such a great time it almost makes it worthwhile to turn 40! (Almost). I've got a few months left though, so until then I'm hanging on to 39 for dear life!
